C: AN ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPH OF SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL

Erfurt, Germany
Holiday in 2008
"Only The Good Die Young"

This was taken during a holiday. The cobblestone footpath leading to two cathedrals on a hill was carved with names of people who died of AIDS. Great legends are not forgotten and will continue to brave the generations to come. Cobblestone pathways transcends time and braves the harshest of conditions. It is only fitting that only great legends may have the honour to forever be engraved in time.

B: AN IMAGE OF A GREAT PIECE OF ARCHITECTURE

Daniel Libeskind
The Jewish Museum Berlin
"Between The Lines"

Completed in 1999, the Jewish Museum in Berlin, Germany serves as an exhibit showcasing the social, political and cultural history of the Jews in Germany from the 4th century to the present. It is designed by American architect Daniel Libeskind of Polish-Jewish decent. His works have often been described as deconstructivist and the Jewish Museum Berlin was Libeskind's first major international success, being one of the first buildings designed after reunification. It is a project about two lines of thinking, organization and relationship. One is a straight line, but broken into many fragments; the other is a tortuous line, but continuing indefinitely.

A: YOUR BEST PIECE OF CREATIVE WORK BEFORE COMING TO UNIVERSITY

Conceptualization
Year One Major Project in Diploma

The brief was to develop a gallery space inspired by a chosen artifact, which in my project was the piano. This concept board is the collation of ideas from conceptualizing, forming the base to develop the form and shape of the facade in later stages. It was put together using pieces foam board in different layers to create textures and contrast on the composition. Fresh out of high school, art was a new way of expression for me. The movement of the keyboards were inspired by a quirky piece from Chopin; A Minute Waltz, which I am thoroughly sick of now because of the countless times I had to listen to it before I experienced an epiphany.
